Local field note
Pest Control for Carbon Hill, Northwest Walker County
Carbon Hill sits in the northwest corner of Walker County and was incorporated back in 1891, making it one of the older communities we serve. Northwest Walker County is more rural than the eastern side, which changes the pest picture in a way that matters. Rural properties deal with more rodent pressure than in town, because field mice and rats move between outbuildings, barns and houses, and a woodshed forty feet from the back door is a staging point. Squirrels and the occasional groundhog in outbuildings are common, and mosquitoes breed in the standing water that rural property holds, from troughs and buckets to clogged culverts. If you are on acreage outside Carbon Hill, the perimeter matters more than the interior, and that is where we start.
